Welcome to Nanjing!

We made it. Long long long travel day. A few pictures to tell the story:

At LAX, ready to go.

Our teeny tiny plane. China Southern airbus, seats 500!

Made it to Guangzhou, we both slept, watched movies. One of us ate the plane food, the other one ate a box of Cheez-It's.

5 Yuen well spent

Waiting on our next flight. A two hour layover turned into a 5 hour wait.

The airport staff handed out cans of soup with attached plastic spoons, packets of saltines, and bottled water.

Five hours waiting.

And finally, welcome to Nanjing! Pouring down rain. 75 degrees. Beautiful. Reminds me a bit of Portland, green, rainy, pine trees.

Jiangsu Province government building. Kinda like a Capitol.

Ming Dynasty City Wall

Confucius Temple. We will come back to visit on Thursday.

Hotel lobby.

We went to the adjoining mall, ate Papa John's for dinner, and forced ourselves to stay awake until 6 pm. Now it's midnight and I'm wide awake. Kaila is out cold. Just facetimed with Chad, Samuel and Daniel. Priceless. Daniel had a very rough first night without mama, but is doing great now.

So grateful and blessed to be in the same Province as our Luke! Praying for his sweet heart. His whole life is about to be turned upside down. I'm so very mindful that he is about to lose all he has ever known. Please pray for our sweet little guy.
